Comprehensive Plan & Code Amendments
The Comprehensive Plan amendments were adopted by the City of Florence on Sept 3, 2013; and co-adopted by Lane County on Sept 10, 2013. Ecological Growth Element:
Ecological Growth Planning integrates needed policy and code changes resulting from the other project elements and will result in proposed revised regulatory and land use policies and measures, including: changes to the Comprehensive Plan and Code to incorporate the Guiding Principles; to include specific policies and measures to protect water quality and quantity; and to explore incentive based strategies, such as transfer of development rights, if feasible for Florence.
Protection measuresinclude such tools as revised stormwater management best management practices;public education and outreach, policy, and code requirementsto protect the North Florence Sole Source Dunal Aquifer; planning and regulatory requirements to protect significant wetlands and riparian areas,primarily for water quality protection and flood storage and delay;incentives; and other tools to address environmental impacts of growth.
The Study Area for any land use measures resulting from the various Project Elements is the Florence Urban Growth Boundary.
